The starting point of designing ‘HUHU’ is for encouraging people to get emotional compensation by using the object. Many people have their unconscious / fidgeting behaviour including chewing nails, shaking legs so on. ‘HUHU’ try to help people to be relaxed by pulling out strings from the inner surface of the cushion to play with them. The end results of unconscious behaviour make ‘HUHU’ beautiful. The name & metaphor ‘HUHU’ comes from the moment of people deep breathing when they relax.

Time2Play is a Wall Clock simple and ironic, made ​​of lacquered wood. The clock shows the willingness to interpret in the ironic and playful passage of time, bringing a bit of fun at any time of day. The men clung to the hands show their performance as circus trapeze artists. 

The Sweet Pot by Jeong Kim is an innovative plant pot design where the bottom basin acts as a growth patch for extra grass. Essentially the design takes care of excessive watering and drainage at the same time. More like the extra water acts like a feed for the grass patch at the bottom, hence no drains required.

When looking at the problem of bird populations shrinking in urban areas due to loss of habitat, Nethlerlands-based product designer Klaas Kuiken was struck with the idea of improving a common bird home: residential roofs. In consultation with the Vogelbescherming (the Dutch bird association) Kuiken designed a ceramic birdhouse that adheres to the ubiquitous roof tiles found throughout the country. The house contains a removable basket to aid in maintenance after mating season and is made with materials that can resist extreme cold in the winter. First designed in 2009 the birdhouses have finally gone into production and 100 are now available for sale.

The Energy Seed LED halo shaped lamp uses the little remaining bits of juice left after the battery is otherwise unusable, and illuminates itself.

The design includes slots for the public to dispose of all shapes and sizes of commonly disposed batteries and scrounges just two volts to illuminate an LED. Most garbage batteries have just under this amount at their point of expiration, so two AAs combined for instance is usually enough to get the lamp lit.

Created by Sungwoo Park and Sunhee Kim the use of the Energy Seed means“Trashed batteries can be born again as a seed to blossom light.”

At the end of the day the batteries will lose all useful charge, they will again be waste, and need to be recycled properly. The Energy Tree does squeeze some useful life out of their toxic little bodies before the bitter end however!

Columbian artist Diana Beltran Herrera carefully sculpts incredibly detailed paper birds by hand, representing real and imagined species with bright (and sometimes glittery) plumage.

Though her creations are static sculptures, they seem to convey an incredible sense of movement and life. This is reflected in Herrerra’s choice of paper as a medium, which she uses for its sense of lightness and freedom.

She also frequently creates paper habitats for her birds, ranging from jungles to woodlands.

French designer Thibaut Malet created a set of hand-carved, limited edition wooden characters inspired by the iconic LEGO figure. Each of these twenty ‘Art Toys’ is unique and features a number on the bottom of its feet to let you know which one you have of the collection.

The 11cm toys are packaged in a stamped cardboard box with wood chippings. Malet was selling the wooden figures in his Etsy store, but they are now sold out.

“Nar” is a new approach to the traditional use of a coffee table and a bookshelf. It brings together their functions to create a practical method of using both.

“Nar” can hold as many books as a conventional book shelf while adding the comfort of not loosing the page read.

Rows of thin metal sheet that line across the table are the ribs that form the structure of the table. These metal ribs carry the books as the books are hung from their bindings. They can also be used as bookmarks.

Metal plates which easily slide above these ribs and books protects the books from dust and brings forward the function of the coffee table.

The design and the materials have been kept simple so that the table becomes almost invisible when filled with books, therefore making its aesthetics more unique and personal.
